(Photo by Aaron Rapoport\/Corbis\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>If you\u2019re looking to find a way to pay tribute to Dolly Parton this weekend, movie theaters are bringing back two of her classic films.<\/p>\n<p><em>Steel Magnolias<\/em> and <em>The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas<\/em> will be returning to about 200 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amctheatres.com\/movies\/steel-magnolias-84878\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AMC Theatre<\/a>\u00a0locations nationwide starting Aug. 28. For fans in Parton\u2019s home state of Tennessee, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.regmovies.com\/promotions\/dolly-parton-tribute\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Regal Cinemas<\/a> will also be playing the films, along with smaller chain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harkins.com\/events-and-series\/dolly-parton-tribute\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Harkins Theaters<\/a>, on Aug. 29 and 30.<\/p>\n<p>The 1989 film <em>Steel Magnolias<\/em> follows the friendship of a group of women in small-town Louisiana. Parton stars as beauty salon owner Truvy Jones, alongside a cast that includes Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Daryl Hannah and Olympia Dukakis.<\/p>\n<p>The musical comedy <em>The<\/em>\u00a0<em>Best Little Whorehouse in Texas<\/em>, which originally came out in 1982, stars Parton as the owner of a brothel, and Burt Reynolds as the local sheriff and her lover.<\/p>\n<p>Parton died Tuesday at age 80 after a brief battle with cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026, ABC Audio.
